Dorint Blüemlisalp Beatenberg / Interlaken

Dorint Switzerland has three branches - in Zurich, Basel, and Beatenberg

After visiting their Basel unit last year, they invited me to live a period at their mountain Hotel - Dorint Blüemlisalp Beatenberg. It is located 30 min away by bus from Interlaken West, in the stunning Berner Oberland region.

Even though the building didn't have the dimensions it does nowadays, the location has accommodated visitors since the early 1900.

Today, there are 166 apartments in the resort complex, of which 128 are available for booking, two restaurants, a bar, conference and meeting rooms, a kids area and Wellness.

There are only apartments available, some up to 100 sqm big. The apartments are owned by individuals who are granted usage for 42 nights per year; the rest of the time, Dorint manages them and sells them as Aparthotels.

Unlike many Aparthotels, though, Breakfast can be included in the reservation. The resort additionally encompasses the structure of an ordinary Hotel.

Even though the Dorint brand is a chain initially from Germany, its philosophy differs from other Hotel chains in that each location is individual and has its unique character. Specific guidelines, quality and promises are guaranteed throughout, but the location's design, culinary experiences and offers, in general, are adapted to the local specialities and regional sights.

Thus, Dorint Blüemlisalp Beatenberg / Interlaken owns an alpine style, as it is fitting to the region.

A breathtaking view that cannot be adequately expressed in words or pictures. One must experience it live to understand its magnitude. A panoramic, idyllic scenery, as if retrieved from those Swiss touristic prospects that many dreams of visiting. All rooms face the view (the rooms higher in the upper levels get to see more of it).

A panoramic view of the Berner Oberland alps, looking at one side Niesen, and on the other end, the worldwide known peaks: Eiger, Mönch and the Jungfraujoch.

In the middle is the Thunersee, with its surreal turquoise colours.

Needless to say that the region is famous for outdoor lovers, with endless hiking possibilities. It is also very well-known for its paragliding culture.

The Hotel has the amenities to accommodate almost every type of target group - families, couples of all ages, sole travellers and business. Individuals searching to take it easy and unwind or have active holidays exploring the region and all nature offers can find their space here.

It is not only easily accessible by car and bus from Interlaken West but also a 15-minute walk away from the Niedehornbahn. The lift takes you either up to Niederhorn (at 1950m) or down to the Thunersee. At the Lakeside Beatenbucht, one can take the boat and travel either to Interlaken West or in the opposite direction, to Thun.

Activities will not be lacking.

On the weekend, during my stay, the influencer Maaraja and her family visited the hotel, where we could create great content together for the hotel. The kids enjoyed the playground that the hotel offers indoors and outdoors, the wooden structure at the Niederhorn, and the grilling experience on the Beatusweg path.

For rainy days, the Wellness or the comfort of the rooms will provide you with relaxing opportunities.

The team working at the Hotel feels like family. Young, friendly, motivated employees, eager to help and assist the travellers.

For an inspiring story among the employees, which I believe is worth sharing, check out the blog post I wrote during my stay.

This is, without a doubt, a place I've put on my list to come again. Thankful to the entire for making my stay memorable. It felt like home.
